Fashion Shoot for Lincolnshire Pride - August Edition

Well I have been busy again on another fashion shoot with Lincolnshire Pride. It makes a refreshing change to do something a little different and to have the time to create these images. We managed to shoot 6 changes of clothes and we had on hand a hairdresser, make-up artist and a professional model, Rachel Barber. The clothes were provided by Cavell's, who are based in Oakham. We were also joined by Rob Davis, editor of Lincolnshire Pride. So you can see it was quite a team.

We took all the photographs in and around Hexgreave Hall Country Estate, where we have our new studio. Many of the settings are exactly the ones we use for lifestyle photography - which provides a natural and relaxed style of photography. Here are a few of photographs from the day - and look out for the August edition of Lincolnshire Pride.

Stapleford Park, Leicestershire

We have done a few weddings at this venue. Our last one was the wedding of Mike and Sarah in April this year. The weather was rather cold, so there was not much chance for outside photography. The grounds and the venue itself are stunning. It is not within everyone's budget but it is still a lovely place to have a wedding. Here are a few photographs from Mike and Sarah's wedding.

The Priest House Hotel

The Priest House Hotel is a luxury hotel just by Castle Donington (between Nottingham and Derby, just off the M1). It is part of the Hand Picked Hotels Group and I can see why it has a "handed picked" status - it is set in a wonderful location, next to the River Trent and the original watermills. The location dates back to the Domesday Book of 1086. It is a very nice hotel and a great place for a wedding. There is also a Spa and fitness area as well. We have a number of weddings booked at the Priest House this year.

Most of all though the hotel has a very warm and homely feel, with plenty of character.

One of the interesting things about weddings are the people you get to meet. One of the guests at Robert and Zoe's wedding (February 2008) did the marketing material for this hotel, which seems a small coincidence but it was nice to put a face behind the prints, because we were very impressed by the marketing literature.

That's it from me for now...hope you have a good day.

Taste and see...

Katie from Couture Cakes is holding a midsummer's open day at her Vine House Studio Farm on Sunday 22nd June, from 10am to 4pm. I can personally vouch for the taste of her cakes, which are made using all organic ingredients. They offer a highly individual and fashionable style of cakes, made in either sugar paste or chocolate, with meticulous attention to detail, to sculpt a design that is as spectacular as it is mouth-watering.

We first met Katie at a wedding show and she was offering samples - we have never tasted cakes like it and they look wonderful too. Even more interesting is the fact that many of the ingredients are produced on their own farm - using eggs from their own free-range chickens, to their own organic wheat, their own strawberries and their own jam. How unusual and it all goes to make for a wonderful taste.

You can find details at www.couture-cakes.co.uk or telephone Katie on 07968 596912

So if you fancy a few hours out and a free tasting session then why not call in and see.
