Portraits - Chris and Keddie

Those who visit this site on a regular basis will know that we have been doing a lot of portraits this year. We opened a new studio in Hexgreave Hall Country Estate and we can use the grounds to take natural portraits. We have also been doing some portraits on location. We have really enjoyed applying our natural and contemporary style of photography to portraits. It has been great to meet with some wedding couples from years past and also to meet new customers whose simply want some great, natural portraits.

I have just posted some recent portraits of Chris and Keddie, who are getting married next week (30th August) and will be holding their reception at Swinfen Hall, Lichfield.

Photography By Jade

I would like to extend a very big and warm welcome to the newest member of our team - Jade. We have known Jade for a few years, as she often helped Samantha with weddings. She turned professional last year and has been running her own business for the past year, doing her own weddings. Well, we got chatting over the summer and it made sense for us all for Jade to join PureLight as a full time and permanent member of our team. So 2 has become 3, in terms of photographers at least.

Jade studied photography at university and has a lovely natural style of photography. You will see more of her work on this site over the coming months and will read her own posts in due course. Here are a few pictures and you can see more at the recent wedding gallery by clicking here. .

Recent Wedding - Hayley and Gavin

I have just uploaded the pictures from Hayley and Gavin's wedding. You can see some of these pictures below and more at our recent gallery. Hayley and Gavin were married on 26th July and they were married at the Guards Chapel by St James Park and their reception was at the Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly.

You can see their pictures on the recent wedding gallery by clicking here. .

This is Gavin's mum during the speeches. The light and colours are great.

Wedding cakes are always one of the highlights for a wedding and the pictures.

This is Gavin just before Hayley came into the chapel He seems pretty relaxed.

These always make for great pictures, capturing moments as the happen.

This is one of Hayley's bridesmaids relaxing in the morning.

This is the collar, specially bought for the wedding, for Hayley's dog, who was a special guest at the wedding later in the day.

Shoes are important to many girls and this was definitely the case with Hayley.

This is an outside picture of the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly.

Recent Portraits - Jill and John

There are a few occasions in life when you feel very privileged. John contacted me a few weeks ago and asked for some portraits of his sister Jill, who has downs. They both came and I took some pictures of them in the grounds of Hexgreave Hall. Jill does not like having her photograph taken but on this time she was fine. John wanted to capture some of her lovely expressions. It was great to be able to see them together and to capture these pictures for both John and Jill. Here are a few below.

Recent Wedding - Karima and Raj

I've just uploaded the photographs for Karima and Raj's wedding, which was on the 20th July at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club, Warwickshire. We first met Karima and Raj at the wedding of Karima's sister - Salima - last year. We absolutely loved working with Salima and her now husband Arif and we were delighted when Karima booked us to photograph her wedding this year. They are such a lovely family that is was a true pleasure for both Samantha and me to take their photographs.

We worked with the girls, Ranj and Sney, from Tania Tapel wedding and event organisers on this wedding, as we did last year.

You can see their pictures on the recent wedding gallery by clicking here. . Here are a few:-

The dancing is always a big part of any Asian wedding.

This was a nice tier of cup-cakes.

A simple but relaxed pose.

Sam is great at these pictures - wish I could take them! Requires a female touch, I think.

Now this is more my type of picture - looks like Raj should be on the silver screen.

Another one of Sam's very effective creative photographs.

And another - they work very well, but you have to have the eye to see it in the first, and Sam certainly does.

Another busy weekend...

Well this weekend is rather busy for us. I was at Branston Hall yesterday for the wedding of David and Victoria. Victoria got ready at her parents' home in Blankney, they were married in the lovely St Oswald's church at Blankney and held their reception at Branston Hall . It was a bit wet in the morning but it brightened up perfectly. Sam was at another wedding, Lou and Ian, and is also covering a wedding toady at the Priest House Hotel, near Castle Donington.

Tonight we are both travelling down to London as we have the wedding of Meghna and Jignesh tomorrow in central London. So, all in all, it is a busy weekend!

Fleur

Well it was Sunday afternoon and I was just about to leave to see some friends of mine and I thought it would be nice to take a few pictures just for pleasure and personal interest. The weather was nice and so I took these pictures of Fleur, one of our small dogs (we have 4). Now some of you may know but for those who don't, Fleur came to us about 1 year ago as a puppy - a very, very small puppy. She is not exactly that big now. She was part of an unexpected litter and so we offered her a home. She is not always so cute, especially when it comes to guarding her own food - which she does with some vigour.

Apparently poodles have 'attitude' and for those in the know you can tell from the picture - well that is what Sally, her breeder tells us. Anyway, my wife sent Sally one these pictures, which I understand will soon grace one of her walls. So that was a pleasant way to spend a few moments on a Sunday afternoon.

Holdenby House, Northants

We came back last night from Shropshire and this morning we are off to Holdenby House in Northamtonpshire. This is the wedding of Amy and Richard. This is the first time we have photographed at this venue - fingers crossed for the weather, although I think some rain is on the cards.

From the Mill Hotel, Alverley

We are photographing the wedding of Beccy and David today at the Mill Hotel Alverley, in between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth (this the West Midlands for those not familiar). We came across last night, to avoid traffic problems this morning and are just about to kick off - fingers crossed for the weather.

I have also just uploaded the photographs from Rob and Kelly's wedding, which was on the 5th July at Holme Pierrepont Hall, Nottinghamshire. Feel free to have a look at these at our recent gallery.
