Album Design - Mark and Philippa
I have just uploaded the album design for Mark and Philippa to the album design part of the website. I also photographed the wedding of Philippa's sister, Nikki, who was married in June 2006. It is always nice to photograph weddings where there is already a connection, for all concerned, and we receive many such bookings. Philippa and Mark are a lovely couple. They had both been at Nicola's wedding, so they already knew that we worked in a relaxed and unobtrusive manner and they loved our style of photographs.
For Philippa and Mark's wedding we were able to photograph with both Samantha and me, as we had then formed PureLight by Sam & Glen. This tells in the coverage we were able to get across the day. The wedding was all within the same village, of Long Clawson in Leicestershire, but the ceremony was at the parish church, which was a good 20 minutes walk from where Philippa was getting ready (her parent's home). With two of us, we of course can spread our time in two different places, so we have some lovely pictures of Philippa at home and some great pictures of Mark and boys beforehand too.
The other benefit with two of us, especially two professional photographers, is we can capture a greater number of special moments, because we work as a team, often working from different angles. Formal pictures are much quicker too, as one of us can arrange and organise, whilst the other concentrates on taking the pictures. We of course do many weddings on our own, and the coverage is fine, it is just not as full when we both work together. This is not the same with just using an assistant, because whatever one might say, there is a difference in the standard of pictures being taken.
The cost of wedding photography, especially where there are two professional photographers, is significant and much more than it used to be, and much more than is the case with traditional photography. However, we are providing something very different from just some photographs. Our couples always tell us how much our photographs help them to remember their wedding day, as it flies by on the day at a fast rate of knots. By capturing the day in the way we do, we are capturing far more than just a few pictures, we are of course also capturing the memories, special moments, the character of the day and peoples' personalities, with their subtle mannerisms. These are the pictures you will look back on in years to come, again and again.
You can see a slideshow if you click here or you can flick through the pages in the album design section.
